Spring is an affair of new flowering life, and should be celebrated as one. Host your very own Open House! There's no better way to celebrate than to familiarize your consumers with the latest and greatest product your garden oasis has to offer. Make yourself stand out from the rest, and show consumers the services you can do for them. Soon will be evident what they can do for you. And Proven Winners can help you do just that!
Focus, Focus, Focus - Everyone loves a theme! It allows the consumer to feel like you're leading them into something special. P. Allen Smith's "Hot 21" Plants for 2008 is a great one! 21 may be too many for such an event, instead focus on a handful that fit in combinations. With him showcasing these superior varieties in magazine articles, during his book tour and TV appearances, and on his web site - millions of existing and potential consumers will be reached.
Save the Date - Saturday and Sunday afternoons are the best times for any special event. Set a time limit: 1-5 pm, for example. You can target a more diverse audience that may have not have been there before.
Skip the Envelope - Post cards get read more often than material in an envelope and it's an inexpensive way to stay in touch with your consumers. Have a simple sign-up sheet at all check-out counters, where consumers are encouraged to submit their information so you notify them of upcoming sales, new inventory, or your Open House.
Preparation, Preparation - Arrange posters, flyers, and direct mail postcards that list speakers, times, subjects, and free materials supplied. Keeping your consumers informed is key.
Drinks, anyone? - It doesn't have to be fancy - punch and cookies are fine - but offering some sort of refreshment will make your guests feel welcome and at ease. Be sure to note that you will serve free refreshments in all your advertising and signage.
